The next gen hero arrives and she’s here to stay

Testosterone fueled heroes have long been the standard in Hollywood action films. There hasn't been a doomsday scenario that a good set of biceps and automatic weapons couldn’t handle. A lot has changed however in the past couple of years, giving rise to a new generation of hero.

Female

From Daisy Ridley’s Rey in Star Wars to Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman, female heroes have arrived to inspire both young girls and boys alike. Our eldest daughter in particular has taken to all things Star Wars. In fact, her first backpack sported BB-8, which she would proudly tote to Pre-K. When one of her friends questioned why she had a BB-8 backpack, proclaiming Star Wars is "for boys," our daughter shrugged it off. A strong female character like Rey for her to identify with, what could be more appropriate an inspiration for our young daughter? What young child wouldn't want to play a part in this world, boy or girl?

Defining a new generation of modern heroes is just getting started. From on-screen super heroes to super moms and super dads. Hey Moona takes pride in being a part of this new direction, forging new ways for our children to connect to heroes and shape our future.
